Dear Sirs,
Re: article page 3, LIFE, 26/5/04
Could my family and I express our extreme disappointment with the failure of the Conservative Reigate and Banstead Borough Council to maintain the paddling pool in Priory Park? My five-year-old son spent many a happy hour there just before it was closed, and my one-year-old is now to be deprived of the same introduction to water play. If the council can spend £750,000+ on its own comfort in the new Council Chamber, is £39,000 so much to pay for a well-loved amenity that will bring far more pleasure to far more people? And the "interactive water feature" could surely be put in now rather than waiting for the outcome of the lottery application if the political will was there.
Yours sincerely
Sue & Chris Howell
