Cramped parking at Trehaven Parade
The Trehaven Parade shopper car parking bays have finally been painted after months of consultation with local residents. Unfortunately they have been painted incorrectly. Shopkeepers and drivers have complained that the lines are too close together.
Liberal Democrat Councillor for Meadvale & St. Johns, Steve Kulka said "It's ridiculous. The gap between the lines is about the width of an average car. There's no room to open the doors. It's impossible to park your car between them and then get out, other than through the sun-roof. After all the consultation and planning that went into the project, a complete lack of care and professionalism has been demonstrated by this Tory run Council. This has resulted in another terrible waste of residents Council Tax money.
The Council can't even be trusted to get the measurements correct. It just shows a complete lack of common sense".
The other Lib Dem Councillor for this area, Graham Norman, said "Everyone I've spoken to has said that they want the lines burnt off and redone. It's worse than not having them at all. We'll be pushing to get this shambles corrected as quickly as possible".
