At the recent Surrey County Council Local Committee meeting for Reigate and Banstead, the Tory controlled Highways department admitted that the current Maintenance Delivery Plan has no budget allocated to cleaning street signs, maintaining verges or flooding.
It was suggested at that meeting that residents may like to wash their own signs and mow their own verges, as they do in East Surrey.
We have checked with East Surrey Councillors, who have not heard of any such action.
Surely we pay enough Council Tax already.
Maybe Conservative Surrey County Council will be suggesting that they give some training and a bucket of tar to residents so that we can fill in our own pot-holes.
