Cllr. Steve Kulka proposed a Motion at Full Council on 19th April to reduce our Carbon Footprint in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead. The Motion stated 'This Council believes that more encouragement should be given to businesses and individuals resident in this borough to reduce their carbon footprint'.
The recommendations are :-
1. Planning application charges should be removed for any energy efficiency upgrade to a property.
2. The council website should include references to useful sources of energy efficiency information.
3. The council should carry out out an audit to discover how it can reduce it's own carbon footprint.
The Conservative Mayor decided to delay it's consideration until a meeting of the Council Executive on Thursday 14th June. This meeting is open to the public and starts at 7:30pm.
