Safe place to cross the road
Over the Christmas and New Year period, the local Lib Dem FOCUS team led by Peter Lambell, surveyed over 200 houses in the St Johns area of Pendleton Road to ascertain residents views on the lack of a crossing near the bus stops and Abinger Drive.
Tory controlled Surrey County Council have been promising to build one for years.
94% of residents comments from the returned surveys, said that a new crossing near the junction of Abinger Drive and Pendleton Road is desperately needed and well overdue.
There was success recently getting a crossing for St Johns School. Now the Council needs to ensure the safety of people needing to cross Pendleton Road at Abinger Drive, because the footpath stops at that point and there is no refuge or safe place to cross.
