Reigate Lib Dem Election Success

Lib Dems Winning Here

Lib Dems Winning Here

Good news update from the recent local and parliamentary elections.

Steve Kulka was re-elected for the third time in the local elections to represent Meadvale and St Johns with 52% of the vote. 4% better than 4 years ago when Steve was last elected.

The Lib Dems came 2nd in the majority of the other wards in the constituency and in the General Election - we earned an extra 3,200 votes, which equates to a 3% increase.

We've had more offers of help from supporters. Many more people who offered to help deliver leaflets and display posters.

Many new supporters becoming members and joining the party.

If seats had been allocated on a proportional basis in the 12 wards of the constituency, it would have resulted in the election of 6 Conservatives, 4 Liberal Democrats, 1 Labour and 1 UKIP.

Instead, because of the 'first passed the post' system, 10 Conservatives, 1 Lib Dem and 1 Green councillor was elected.

Reigate Liberal Democrats would like to thank everyone that supported us and helped to achieve this very positive outcome.
