State of the Borough Debate
Every autumn Reigate and Banstead Borough Councillors are asked to take part in a debate about the state of our Borough and the meeting this year is on Thursday 30th September. As your local councillors we would like to know what is important to you, the things you like or dislike and any changes you would like to see. We can then raise these issues on your behalf at the meeting. The emphasis will be on what has been done well and what needs to be improved.
We all know that pot holes and parking are a problem, but both of these are matters for the County Council and, whilst very important, are separate to this debate. The Borough Council focus is on areas such as planning, parks and open spaces, town centres, support for local businesses, car park provision, Redhill town centre regeneration, traffic enforcement, the Harlequin Theatre, Donyngs Leisure Centre and refuse collection. Please let us know what you think about these and any other issues of concern to you.
Based on feedback from residents, we have previously asked about and continue to campaign for more litter bins in Priory Park, better play provision for children with disabilities, a reduction in the cost of the mayoral car, improved recycling facilities and Borough owned buildings to be made more energy efficient.
We look forward to hearing your views.
