Compost Trial Welcomed

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 29th Sep 2003

After Liberal Democrat Councillor Steve Kulka suggested an inter-council garden waste composting scheme, Reigate & Banstead Council started a trial of collecting Garden Waste to compost.

"This is proving to be very popular" said Steve.

"However in most of the Borough, the 75p Garden waste bags still go straight to land fill sites with all the other rubbish."
