Earlswood by-election8.00.00pm GMT Thu 8th Nov 2007
A by-election has been called for 13 December 2007 to elect a new councillor to Earlswood and Whitebushes ward, following the recent resignation of a Tory Councillor after only five months. Recent Press stories have highlighted that a large number of Conservative Councillors do not attend meetings, but still take thousands of pounds worth of allowances. The Council is currently in the process of updating its Register of Electors and residents will have been sent registration forms. If you haven't yet returned your registration form, please send it back without delay so you don't lose your right to vote. If think you are eligible to vote in Earlswood and would like to vote by post but haven't already registered for a postal vote, please apply now to make sure the Council has time to process your application for the by-election. The closing date for postal vote applications and the deadline for registering is Wednesday 28 November.
