Peter Lambell

Surrey County Councillor for Reigate Central, Peter Lambell

Fantastic Surrey County Council result for Reigate Liberal Democrats in Reigate Central Division. Peter Lambell won the seat in a three way fight, beating a Conservative and an Independent. Peter won overwhelmingly with a majority of nearly 200 and expressed his thanks to all those who helped to make this possible.

Speaking to Holly Thompson and Nev Wilson of the Surrey Mirror, Peter said: "It feels fantastic, we've been fighting very hard for this, the results are even better than we expected.

"We've had a great reaction on the doorstep from everyone, we worked really hard, we think we deserved to win.

"On the doorstep everyone was talking about the state of the roads, so we want to work to improve that.

"We also really want to improve public transport and Surrey County Council have a terrible on services for vulnerable adults and children, only a one-star rating so that's obviously a concern to a lot of people and we're going to work on that."

Reigate Central Division had the highest percentage turnout in any of the Reigate and Banstead divisions, at 46%.
