Another Tory Borough Councillor resigns and forces By-Election

10.10.00pm GMT Thu 12th Nov 2009

Just two years after the last Tory Councillor threw in the towel early in Earlswood and Whitebushes Ward, another one has deserted. There will be an election on 17th December to elect Steve Oddy as the local Lib Dem Councillor.

Steve lost by only 41 votes, when the last Tory gave up on the residents of Earlswood and Whitebushes in 2007.

Since then, Steve has been working with Jane Kulka (Lib Dem PPC) and other Lib Dem Borough Councillors as a Lib Dem FOCUS team member, dealing with issues such as improvements to youth services and facilities. He welcomes the local Police initiatives on youth involvement in Earlswood.
