Lib Dem approach to transport and parking in Reigate

Parking in ReigateWe live in a thriving community where many people want to live, work and study. But this creates creates problems with congested roads and residents unable to park near their homes.

Improving public transport would take some pressure off our roads while also being more environmentally friendly - and we would focus on improving bus services, making them more reliable and frequent. Rail users have also had a torrid last few years and we'd work hard with others to campaign and lobby for improvements in rail services - including support for a platform 3 at Reigate.

We would also work with local companies, schools and colleges to encourage them to improve the transport provision they make for all their workers and students.

We would look to improve public parking facilities - and investigate the feasibility of a Park and Ride service to ease traffic congestion in and around our town centres.
