Sam Mearing — Horley Central and South
Samantha Mearing (Sam) lives in South Horley with her husband. She works with local community groups to organise litter pcks and has run two picks each month for over a year. She is also a champion for the Blue Heart scheme in Horley and the residential lead for the replanting of the Upfield / Cheyne Walk roundabout. Sam had not previously considered an involvement in local poltics but has recognised the disillusionment with politics that has grown across our country. She believes we are capable of slowing sorting out the mess if we are willing to work together, and she wants to be part of the change that is needed.

Social care in Surrey
There is an increasing need for social care in Surrey, but as council care homes close, there needs to be a sustainable plan for the future of social care.
