Lib Dems cost of living plan

Lib Dems’ plan to provide crucial lifelines to those abandoned by the Conservatives.

Years of Conservative failure and their mismanagement of our economy have left residents across Surrey facing a cost of living crisis that seems to go on and on.

In response, the Liberal Democrats are demanding urgent action and have announced a ‘cost of living rescue plan’ to provide a crucial lifeline for people abandoned by the Conservatives.

Chris Coghlan, Liberal Democrat campaigner for the new constituency of Dorking and Horley said: “Sky-high energy bills, food prices and housing costs are overwhelming families and pensioners in our area”

“Highest taxes anyone can remember”

“We need a Government with a plan to tackle this cost-of-living crisis. But instead, the Conservatives have made it so much worse by crashing the economy and raising people’s taxes to the highest levels anyone can remember.” 

The Liberal Democrats’ cost of living rescue plan includes:

•  Help people with their energy bills by implementing a proper, one-off windfall tax on the super-profits of oil and gas producers and traders
•  Invest in infrastructure, innovation and skills to create good jobs
•  Make taxes fair, reversing the Conservatives’ tax cuts for big banks, and restoring the link between personal tax allowances and inflation.
