Steve Wotton - Horley West and Sidlow
Steve lives in Horley and has 3 children at local schools.
Steve was elected to the Horley Town Council in May 2023. Since then he has been involved with a local volunteer campaign group that has been working to get Thames Water to improve the Horley Sewage Works and act to prevent the terrible "over-topping" events, when raw sewage spils out of the storm tanks into surrounding public fields and a public footpath. Thames Water has finally started to take action, but more needs to be done, you can find out about this here.
Steve also participates in local litter picks and has even got into the River Mole to clear out its rubbish!
He is also keen to see Horley continue to develop services and amenities to support families. He is very keen to improve the local environment, rivers and countryside, but believes this needs to be coupled with enough new housing for young people.
Steve works in financial services and, when he is free, likes to spend time with his kids and go to the gym.
Steve Wotton is the progressive voice for Horley West and Sidlow
Challenging Thames Water
Steve was the first to report on the "over-topping" of the sewage storm tanks at Horley Sewage Works. Steve and River Mole campaigners have succeeded in getting Thames Water to finally take action.
Safer roads
We have launched a campaign for traffic calming on Lee Street/ Horley Row/ Mill Lane. In recent years the volume of traffic has increased by around 25%.
We have also launched a petition to get a pelican crossing on Meath Green Lane, where dangerous traffic is an issue outside Meath Green Junior School.
Clean up our environment
Steve lives in Horley, close to the River Mole, he works with local community groups and litter pickers to maintain our local environment and clean up our town.
