Chris Coghlan in the River Mole

Stop Dumping Sewage in the River Mole!

We need to stop the outrageous levels of sewage pollution which devastates our local river environment, poses a risk to public health and contaminates local countryside around Horley. We are calling on the UK Government and our local authorities of Reigate & Banstead and Surrey Country Council to address the ongoing issue of privatised water companies pumping billions of litres raw sewage into the rivers and seas of the UK. There were more than 2300 hours of sewage discharge into the River Mole and its tributaries upstream and around Horley in 2022. Under-investment in infrastructure over many years has brought us to this sorry state. Something has to change.

By signing the petition below, you are pledging your support for an obligation to be placed on UK water companies to invest sufficiently in their infrastructure to ensure a rapid reduction in sewage pollution year on year.
